MOOCs

From the first… to the most recent

Emerging trends and Technologies in the K12 Classroom: link here ( https://www.coursera.org/course/k12virtualtrends  A great course for teacher who want to get ideas and resources for integrating technology tools to deliver great lessons. Focuses heavily on US primary and high school context)

Performance assessment in the Virtual Classroom: link here  (https://www.coursera.org/course/virtualassessment) This course is a great introduction to the principles of evaluating performance and focuses a lot on the importance of weighting tasks accurately, especially in a virtual context.

K12 Blended and Online Learning by University System of Georgia/Kennesaw State University: No current link (no upcoming course). This course really helped put the above elements into a context. I created an online course curriculum and resources to fit it, and found it was really practical in its approach.

Coaching Teachers: Promoting Changes that Stick by Match Teacher Residency through Coursera: No current link (no upcoming course) A fantastic course which really made me reflect of the effectiveness of my own training and practice for observations and training. This course refined my approach to the observation and feedback cycle.

Currently trying to follow the Univ of Edinburgh’s E-learning and Digital Cultures MOOC #edcmooc but my kids are doing their best to thwart any attempts to keep up! (I never did finish it).
